About Nashik Bar Association

Who We Are

The Nashik Bar Association is a registered society of advocates enrolled with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa. With over 6,500 members, it is one of the prominent Bar Associations in Maharashtra.

Our registered office is located at the District Court Premises, Nashik.

Jurisdiction

Members of the Nashik Bar Association practice across:

• District Courts (Civil & Criminal)
• Revenue Courts
• Labour Courts and Co-operative Courts
• Magistrate's Courts
• Tribunals established by law
• Quasi-judicial authorities

The Association represents advocates practicing throughout Nashik District.

Aims and Objects

As per the proposed amended Article 3 (subject to approval at Special Meeting):

1. To uphold the Constitution of India and work for the preservation of the Rule of Law.
2. To preserve and enhance the prestige and honor of the legal profession and to secure rights, privileges and status for members.
3. To create and maintain feelings of brotherhood among the members of the Bar.
4. To maintain status, prestige and high standard of professional ethics amongst advocates.
5. To make representations to the High Court, Supreme Court, Parliament, State Legislature, and Central and State Governments with respect to legislation, grievances of the legal profession and administration of justice.
6. To represent and to protect the interests of the members of Nashik Bar Association.
7. To promote and work for welfare of its members — accident insurance, mediclaim and other group welfare schemes.
8. To construct the 'Vakil Bhavan' to facilitate information and research upon various branches of law including Artificial Intelligence (AI).
9. To build, construct and maintain chambers, buildings and infrastructure with modern amenities including WiFi/Internet.
10. To take all necessary steps to prevent any abuse of law or mal-administration of justice.
11. To do all such things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects.
12. To manage and invest the funds of the Bar Association.
13. To visit and inspect Law Universities and inform them about the procedure of actual practice.
14. To exercise general supervision and control over Nashik Bar Association.
15. To increase efficiency of members and eradicate difficulties including any kind of discrimination.
16. To promote professionalism and imbibe spirit to uphold the Advocates Act and code of conduct.
17. To provide amenities such as offices, chambers, sports and recreation for members.
18. To promote legal aid and legal literacy activities and encourage participation of Junior Advocates.
19. To promote welfare of Junior Advocates including providing stipend and conducting educational programs.
20. To uphold independence of judiciary and create harmonious relations between Bar and the Bench.
21. To promote art, culture and extracurricular activities for members.
22. To create the grievance redressal mechanism.
23. Generally, to extend the usefulness of the Association and to accept donations, gifts, loans to carry out the objects.
24. To send whenever advisable, representations or deputations to authorities concerned in connection with legislations, practice and procedure of the court and other cogent matter affecting the public and the legal profession.
